F136: An Open Model-To-Fabrication Ecosystem for MEP and Structural Fabricators, Software Suppliers, and Machine Manufacturers

The presenter will share an open model-to-fabrication ecosystem that connects different CAD and BIM design systems to a wide variety of machinery, including pipe profilers, automated welding systems, saws, linear positioners, and manual tools. The ecosystem is currently integrated with a variety of popular MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and Structural design tools and features a public API and a free DLL. The cloud-based nature of this system eliminates tool programming and file importing, provides intersection logic for pipes and fittings, allows accurate procurement using as-designed material data, tracks fabrication status in real time, and supports both 2D and 3D visualizations for assemblers in the fab shop and the field.
